After smashing the previous school record for wins Oct. 21 with their 28th victory, the Scorpions set out to get two more over the weekend, and did so. In the 3A West Regional Tournament semifinals, Sedona made quick work of visiting No. 5 Chino Valley High School, 3-0. The victory advanced the Scorpions to the West champion- ship match where they, would play No. 2 W]ckenburg High School, a team they had beaten 3-0 both times this season. Sedona, which received a No. 1 seed in the tournament for its outstanding play this season, had a little trouble with the Wranglers in Saturday's finale, but in the end came away with the victory, 3-1. "There were a few odd things that happened in game two for them to get that win, but I was never worried," Sedona Head Coach John Parks said. The Scorpions easily beat Wickenburg in game one 25-7, which saw junior Katie Furlong hook up with sophomore Brenna Barker five consecutive times for a kill to take a 7-1 lead before a Wranglers timeout. Sedona struggled in game two however, losing 25-17.
