Sunday gala
supports
Red Rock
State Park
The Benefactors of'Red
Rock State Park, Linda
Goldenstein and Bill Lacy
are hosting a Benefit Gala to
support the park Sunday, Nov.
7, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
The Afternoon of Autumn
Delights will feature music
by Chris Spheeris and the duo
Lyra, performed in the Lacy
Ramada, 800 Page Springs
Road, Comville.
John Conway will host
the event. A silent auction
includes jewelry, art, restau-
rant gift certificates, an
evening of stargazing, an
hour flying over Sedona in
a Lambada motorglider and
more. Catered hors d'oeuvres,
desserts, wine, hot apple cider
and other beverages will be
served.
The benefit ,will help
provide funding to. keep
Red Rock State Park open.
Because of state budgetary
cutbacks, the nonprofit has
continued to support the
park's environmental educa-
tion programs financially,
including assuming responsi-
bility for the gift shop, so that
all proceeds remain at Red
Rock State Park.
The goal is to keep this
wonderful park near Sedona
open to the community, to the
70,000-plus annual visitors
from all over the world, and
for the thousands of school-
children who come to the
park from around the state
to experience field classes in
natural sciences.
Spheeris' trio includes
multi-instrumentalist Eric
Zang and cellist Courtney
Yeates. Spheeris is a Gold,
Platinum and Emmy Award
winner.
Also entertaining for the
afternoon will be the duo
Lyra. Their musical talents
incorporate classical and
electric instruments to create
lively and magical music.
Conway retired as an
assistant chief at Sedona Fire
: District in 1999 to pursue ltis
dream of doing voice-over
work full-time. Winner of the
2000 Communicator Award
of Distinction for male voice
actor, he appears regularly
with local Channel 16-Red
Rock TV, and narrates th#
video, "Natural Wonders of
Sedona: Timeless Beauty."
"Everyone is welcome to
begin the holiday season at

cious foods, wine, music,
and a silent auction full oi
