On the Restaurant Scene GRILLE AT SHADOWROCK Savor the true spirit. TIM AND LORI BYRNE enjoy the generous portions served at Blue Moon Cafe. Enjoy fun food, fun atmosphere and fun service at Blue Moon Care in the Village A blue moon refers to the second full moon of the month. It is a very unique event. So is dining at the Blue Moon Care in the Village of Oak Creek. At the Blue Moon, guests will find they are friends who come in to have a bite to eat. Order breakfast any time, an authentic Philly steak sandwich or New York style pizza with handmade, hand-tossed crust. Don't forget a healthy sized wedge of homemade pie. "We cook everyone's dinner fresh. We don't use heat lamps here. While you wait the few minutes it takes you can read a quick, humorous book or play a game of tic-tac-toe," Blue Moon owner 13m Byrne said. '/Ve like to keep things simple and friendly." Fun, affordable dining is the motto at Blue Moon. Along the walls are several humorous signs, memorabilia and paintings of what the village looked like before it was discovered. Guests can sit in furniture Byme rescued from former Sedona restaurants like the Wild Toucan and the Dug Out Lounge. One booth is where Byrne and his wife and co-owner, Lori, sat at a former restaurant. The rescued pieces make the Blue Moon's furnishings an amalgam of former restaurants -- another fun feature. '/e really try to be approachable, affordable and a fun place to eat. We want everyone who comes here to have a good meal, good time and leave with an enjoyable experience," Byme said. The Blue Moon Cafe is at 6101 State Route 179. They are open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. Call 284-1831.
