Sedona Public Library has been chosen to be one of the Benefiting Community Organizations for the sixth annual Sedona Marathon, to be held on Saturday, Feb. 12. The marathon enables selected organizations to benefit from a portion of the proceeds of the event as well as from dedi- cated pledges made through associated marathon' participants. This would be a great time to start training for the full marathon, the half • marathon, the 5K, and, new to the event this year, the 10K. You can walk or run for free as long as you raise pledges for the library. If you would prefer to volunteer rather than walk or run, that's great, too -- this also supports the effort. You can get more information about this at www. sedonamarathon.com/charity.html in the coming months. Now that your summer vacation is over, maybe you are wondering what new activ- ities you could take on. Well, the library has just the thing for you -- come and volunteer. The library is always looking for people to help in every possible way, so please pick up a form the next time you are at the library and get involved. You can also find out more about volunteering on our website at www.sedonalibrary.org/volunteers/ volunteer.html. Volunteering is a great way to get to meet people while helping this crucially impor- tant community resource. You can always check the Sedona Public Library website, www.sedonalibrary.org, or follow us on Facebook or Twitter, for up-to-date information on events at the library.
