AI Moss, our president, ably filled in as speaker
at the February meeting when the scheduled speaker
cancelled on short notice. Moss showed slides taken
at the Schlumph Automobile Museum in France.
The. Scumph brothers, who made their money in
textiles, put this private collection of cars together.
Their enthusiasm for their hobby and hard times
led to bankruptcy in the late 70s. The government
eventually took over and turned the collection into
a museum that has 400 cars on display with another
100 h3. reserve.
Our February outing was to Cricket's restaurant in
Lake Montezuma. This small restaurant makes their
own breakfast pastries and they are outstanding. The
members agreed that the meal was worth the drive.

Thea Draaisma of A Spa for You was our show-
boater Wednesday. She says that one of the most
important things she does is listen to her clients,
both befdre the sessions begin and during the
sessions. She is then able to tailor the session to
her individual client and is aware of anything
she might need to change while she is working.
A Spa for You has many types of services, from
a Japanese facial massage, traditional Swedish
massage, stone massage, hot oil massages and
sessions or expectant mothers or couples. When
a couple chedules a session, she will work with
other praclitioners as necessary. The spa schedules
clients fuher apart than most other facilities, so
that each client or couple has the entire area and
time for themselves. Draaisma is proud of their
listing asNo. 2 of 85 special things to do in Sedona
on tripadx/isor.com.
Jane P¢rini of Thunder Mountain Design &
Communications was our speaker Wednesday.
While researching her grandfather, Perini's niece
found information on Perini's grandfather, Victor
Perini, and sent the family copies of the book she
found. Perini's grandfather worked closely with
Henry Ford in the 1920s and traveled much of the
world during that time. Henry Ford had a vision
of a Utopian settlement on the Amazon River and
Perini's grandfather and family lived and worked
there for a while. Although they were used to trav-
eling and living first class, that particular trip was
by boat from New York, through a hurricane and
then 800 miles upriver to the settlement. Perini
has many memories of unique souvenirs that
her grandparents brought back from around the
world.
